For the 1st time, the Conference is to be hosted in the Mother City-Cape Town! Our Cape Town NNASA branch was launched shortly before our AGM in 2012 and we wish them luck and success as they prepare for the Conference. We are so excited to hold the Conference here as, in many ways, it is the heart of Neonatal Care in our Country. It has so many large and influential Neonatal Units and Neonatologists, the Redcross Children’s Hospital, The Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Study, Milk Matters Donor Milk Bank and currently it is the only place to offer any kind of Neonatal Nurse training through the UCT Pediatric Critical Care Course.

Madiba summed it up so well in the above statement. Nursing Care without knowledge and thought is hazardous and Clinical practice without heart and compassion is sterile and cold and may lead to conflict, litigation and certainly a poor working environment. When we combine our hearts and heads in our nursing practice we can deliver excellent care and be the best that we can be. This is truly a formidable objective.

Trade support and involvement has always been a pillar of success for our conferences. For many nurses this is the only contact they have with trade representatives and the only exposure they get to new and innovative products. Without the financial support from our trade partners NNASA would be unable provide this popular conference every year.
